The 40-year-old will make her first Octagon appearance since October 2020, when she won a unanimous decision over Irene Aldana. Vieira, who is ranked fifth in the division, picked up a similar win over Tate in her last bout last November. The UFC’s main fight card is set for 7 p.m. ET from the Apex facility in Las Vegas (view tickets on StubHub).

UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Vieira preview
Holm (14-5) enjoyed success in the boxing ring before entering the Octagon, going 33-2-3 and winning championships in three different weight classes while beating legendary opponents such as Christy Martin and Mia St. John. The move to mixed martial arts went smoothly for her as she won her first 10 fights, including the November 2015 stunning upset that ended the invincible’s three-year reign of the UFC bantamweight title. Ronda Rousey.
The star quickly faded for Holm as she lost to Miesha Tate in her first championship defense. She then dropped decisions against current UFC flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko, Germaine de Randamie and Cris Cyborg – the latter two in featherweight title matches – before being knocked out by Amanda Nunes in July 2019 in his quest to regain the bantamweight crown.
Holm regrouped winning unanimous decisions over Raquel Pennington and Irene Aldana. But that latest win came just two weeks before her 40th birthday in October 2020 and she hasn’t fought since as illness and a knee injury forced her to pull out of two scheduled fights last year.
A native of New Mexico, Holm should have his hands full with Vieira (12-2), who beat Tate by unanimous decision in his last fight last November. The 30-year-old Brazilian had dropped two of her previous three fights, including a knockout loss to Aldana in December 2019. Vieira, who is a strong grappler, was a bantamweight champion in two lesser promotions, holding the title of Mr Cage and Big Way before joining the UFC in October 2016. UFC Fight Night Predictions
We’ll reveal one of Gombas’ UFC Fight Night selections here: he’s backing Jun Yong Park (-210) to be victorious over Eryk Anders (+175) in their middleweight bout on the main card.
Park (13-5) won seven straight fights before losing by submission to Anthony Hernandez in his UFC debut in August 2019. The 31-year-old South Korean, who is a former Yawara FC middleweight champion , won his next three matches but was eliminated by Gregory Rodrigues in his final Octagon appearance last October.
Anders (14-6) has won just one of his last four fights and had his last fight in December, when he submitted to an armbar against Andre Muniz. The 35-year-old, who was a linebacker on the BCS national championship team Alabama in 2009, held the middleweight title in the Legacy Fighting Alliance before joining the UFC in July 2017.
“Anders is solid everywhere, but not amazing anywhere,” Gombas told SportsLine. “Park is a good boxer and will probably have an edge on volume. He also throws some nice low kicks on the feet. … I expect it to be a close fight, but I prefer Park in the end. “
