The Petersburg school board is meeting for a regular meeting on Tuesday evening where they will hear a presentation of the audit on the budget for the year ’21. After the presentation, the board will consider accepting the audit as drafted.
They will also review Alaska’s statutory sex education curriculum. It requires sex education instructors and the course curriculum to be approved annually. Directors Rick Dormer and Heather Conn will present any program updates or presenters, and will be available to answer any questions.
The school board plans to discuss the district’s COVID dashboard and learning modes. There were 28 cases among staff and students on Monday afternoon. Superintendent Erica Kludt-Painter said district staff are under stress managing hybrid classrooms for in-person and online students.
The board will review the annual meeting of the AASB or the Alaska Association of School Boards.
The school board will also hear administrative reports from the general administration, school administrators and the director of activities.
The regular school board meeting begins at 6 p.m. via Ring Central video conference.
