TWO couples were arrested in separate shopping sprees on Friday evening September 23, 2022 in Carcar City, Cebu.
The first couple have been identified as Rodel Bacus Barrido, 28, and his partner Niña Jessica Marie Solon Mercado, 24.
Police found the two in their house at Sitio Awayan, Barangay Poblacion 3 in the city around 9:40 p.m.
Barrido, from Sitio Tangasan, Barangay Valladolid, and Mercado, from Barangay Poblacion 3, are on the police’s Street Level Individuals (SLI) Watch List.
Carcar City Police Station Chief Lt. Col. Ardioleto Cabagnot said the suspects they arrested named them as their illegal drug suppliers.
Recovered from Barrido and Mercado were 26 small packets of shabu, P500 buy money, P610 cash believed to be drug proceeds, a KG9 submachine gun, 10 bullets for a 9mm pistol and a magazine.
The illegal drugs had a combined weight of 1.3 grams and were worth 8,840 pula, based on the standard drug price.
Two hours later at 11:40 p.m., police arrested Joseph Jay Tamayo, 32, and his partner Angelica Unabia Ferolino, 25, in Sitio Tangasan, Barangay Valladolid.
Tamayo and Ferolino are also on the police SLI watch list.
Of the two, 10 small packets of shabu, 500 silver pesos and 500 pesos in cash, believed to be drug products, were recovered.
The illegal drugs had a combined weight of 0.5 grams and were worth P3,400, based on the standard drug price. (LPG)
